Review - Frogg Manor 8th August

WOW! What a venue! WOW! what a gig!

If you were not there, then you really did miss Golden Me at their best! This 'prelude' to the BIG ONE next week (Change of venue - now playing at the Burwardsley Institiute, Cheshire - Friday 13th August), this final rehersal was the real deal!

The lead singer, Jason Richards's vocals were perfectly matched to, what is fast becoming, their signature song - The Who's 'Behind Blue Eyes'. Another of my personal favorites (and I think one of the band's) is the one and only Johnny Cash's song Folsom Prison Blues which was again 'nailed' by Jason and supported superbly by the rest of the band including 'Uncle Mikey' on his Harmonica!

Quality song, after quality song flowed out to great applause from the crowd bringing and end to a well organised and very well performed 1st set (with the help of a broken string).

After a quick 'string change', lead guitarist Ian Rough was ready for the 2nd set which was equally impressive. Favorites included 'Mirror in the bathroom' and 'Sultans of Swing' which really demonstrated Ian's skills as a very versatile guitarist!

If this Gig is anything to go by, the 'BIG ONE' on Friday the 13th at the Burwardsley Institute, should be absolutely amazing. Tickets are only £5 on the door which will open at 8pm. A well stocked bar will also be available, so leave your cars at home and get a lift to the institute for a night you will definately remember!
